Key Responsibilities
- Developing batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and tools like Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue
- Designing and maintaining lakehouse architectures with storage and metadata tools such as Delta Lake, S3, ADLS, Snowflake, or Redshift
- Orchestrating workflows with Apache Airflow, dbt, or cloud-native orchestration tools
- Automating deployments and infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation
- Enforcing data governance, IAM, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, Purview)
- Collaborating within Agile DevOps teams to deliver secure, production-grade data solutions
- You’ll typically join long-term client teams where you make a visible impact, with the flexibility and support of Wypoon as your engineering home base.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with at least several years of recent experience designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong understanding of data transformation, performance tuning, and automation
- Experience with distributed compute frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, or Flink, including the ability to scale data pipelines in production environments
- Solid grasp of data modeling, lakehouse architecture, and data warehousing principles
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation)
- Experience implementing data security, access control, and compliance-aware solutions (e.g., GDPR, IAM, Purview)
- Confident working within Agile/DevOps teams, and comfortable presenting complex technical insights across disciplines
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field
- Language skills: Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher, both spoken and written
